Snowfall: Train service suspended on Banihal-Baramulla track | KNO

Srinagar, Dec 28 (KNO): Train services along the Banihal-Baramulla track have been temporarily suspended due to heavy snow accumulation and ongoing snowfall, officials said on Saturday. An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the suspension will remain in effect until at least 1:00 PM today a precautionary measure. "A WDM3 locomotive equipped with a snow cutter will be deployed to clear the track as required by the permanent way (pway) department before allowing any train movement," the official said, adding that a decision on the resumption of services will be taken after assessing the situation—(KNO)
